Jeff Burke Jeff Burke is the Head of International Mentoring for BadBeat Poker. He is single and lives in South Wales. He won the Midland Masters 2004 for £73,000 and was also part of the winning Dream Team in 2008.

20 years.

What would you do in another life?
Pay more attention at school.

Are you lucky or unlucky on a scale of 0 to 10 (0 = unlucky)?
A 7 – I tend to believe everyone gets their fair share of luck.

What do you do for fun?
I read a lot. At the moment I am reading Stieg Larsson’s The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.

The poker fairy will grant you one wish: What would it be?
I would like to sit with 6 or 7 of the world’s best cash players live e.g. Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey etc.


You have just won a €1 million. What will you do I next day?
Buy a first class flight to Thailand.

What is your biggest fear?
Swimming with sharks.

How much money is enough?
Half a million pounds should be enough.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Thailand.

What was your best buy and how much was it?
My 52” plasma TV which cost me £1,200.

What is your biggest extravagance?
Room service.

Name one thing you would like to change about yourself.
I would like to be young, slim and good looking...or at least one of those!

Can you see yourself quitting poker...? And if you did what would you do?
Whilst I am mentally able I can’t see myself quitting.
